Cultural Competency 

 

3-4 Hours 

1/2 day training course which focuses on young people of African and African-Caribbean descent including dual heritage. The course explores themes of equality, cultural competency and unconscious bias. The course covers the influence and impact of the media; polarised views; inclusion; identifying and removing unconscious bias; equality and discrimination; working effectively with difference. 

Gang Culture: Life beyond the school gates. 

2-3 Hours

A customisable course aimed at exploring perceptions and misconceptions concerning gangs. The course explores our understandings of gangs historically, their contemporary iterations and what gangs mean to young people in our community.  

 

County Lines, Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and Child Sexual Exploitation 

2-3Hour

This course is for professionals working with young people. It explores the context and reality of county lines, the dangers of Criminal Exploitation and CSE and ways to spot the signs.

Designed for parents, carers and guardians who may be worried about county lines and the impact it’s having on their family and community.

 'The Road': A Lifestyle and the Reality 

1.5 - 2 Hours

This workshop will paint a picture of the reality of gang life. The course explores our understandings of gangs historically, their contemporary iterations and what gangs mean to young people in the community. The workshop seeks to explore the ways that gang-related lifestyles can become glamorised and how young people relate to gangs.  

'Road': Exit Strategies  

Small Groups leading to 1-2-1

A tailored intervention for those involved in serious youth violence or victims of CCE/CSE ‘gangs. The course is aimed at exploring options outside of ROAD life. Strategies for remaining safe and making positive plans for the future. Emphasis of this workshop is on replacing criminal income.  

It’s your Life: Rights and Responsibilities 

1.5 - 2 Hours

This workshop focuses on youth justice and considers young people’s rights and the responsibilities of the police, how and why Youth Courts are different to adult courts.
  • What happens if you are stopped and searched by the Police?
  • What happens if you are interviewed by the Police?
  • What is a Youth Court?
 Encouraging children and young people to think critically and make informed decisions.

Knife Free 

2 Hours

In line with best practice, the workshop and resources have been carefully designed to address feelings of fear, shock or guilt while learning about this potentially sensitive topic.  

Grooming: County Lines, Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) 

2 Hour

This course explores the context and reality of county lines, the dangers of criminal exploitation and CSE and ways to stay safe.  

 

Life Changes: Transition to secondary school

2 Hour

Managing the transition to secondary school with a focus on positive mental health and personal safety, this 2 hour workshop is best delivered to KS2 year 6 students in their final term of primary school, or year 7 students in their first term of secondary school. keeping safe online.

Young People: One-to-One Support


Mentoring Programme 
Buy engaging with community mentors who have lived experiences, we are able to work with the ‘hardest to reach’ young people who are on the periphery of the criminal justice system and those who have fallen through the cracks in the education system.  

Delivery Method: Young people will have access to a personal community mentor for up to 10 hours per week depending on their need. Focused sessions take place in schools, colleges or in placements and young people are supported on a practical level; attending interviews, appointments etc.
